BeingFIT for College™ is for parents who value higher education, and are concerned about the rising costs and shifting job market.

We provide education and resources to the public, and personal advisory services to parents at the Early AND Late planning stages.

Do you need help preparing for the costs of education? Are you looking for guidance to help your kids make the "right" choice about higher education?

This is the support you have been looking for.

A note on…Late-Stage College Planning

Maybe you saved, maybe you didn’t...now college is right around the corner.

The anticipated costs and the process are causing significant stress.

You are not alone and you don’t have to go it alone.

Our philosophy and services for parents with teenagers:

1. No Shame Zone. Acknowledge and release any negative emotions over current savings amounts.

2. Being Informed. Calculation of financial aid eligibility and the likelihood of receiving merit scholarships.

3. Being Strategic. Information to help you make smart decisions with what you have saved for college (if any). Or, help if you have saved too much.

4. Potential ROI. Evaluation of the total return on investment with expected salary and ability to pay off student loans. Specific degrees and cost of living are examined.

5. Retirement 1st. Assessment of the likelihood of achieving your retirement goals before dedicating resources to college.

Here are some of the common concerns that parents come to us with:

  • What are the best education accounts for my family?

  • What if my child does not attend college? or receives a form of aid?

  • How are assets counted for financial aid?

    • Student versus parents

    • Education plans versus retirement plans

  • Are there advantages or disadvantages to applying early decision?

  • Will I be eligible for education tax credits or deductions?

  • Do I make too much money to qualify for financial aid?

  • If I don’t qualify or receive other types of aid, how else can I save on college?

  • What are the parent and student options for borrowing?

  • How do student loans work? What are the payment plan options?

  • Where and what are my chances of finding private scholarships?

  • How do athletic or scholarships impact financial aid?

  • How much does college REALLY cost?
